While there is no denying that internet shopping and big box stores gives us access to a wide variety of products and services, there are a number of reasons why you should consider shopping locally whenever possible.

Small local businesses add to our “small-town” feel and offer distinctive products and services not available at larger big-box or chain stores. Customer service is an integral part of our local retail and service establishments and many local businesses not only carry products tailored for our area, they have knowledgeable staff to assist you in making the right purchase.

Create more local ownership and jobs

Small business owners are the largest employer nationwide, and buying locally encourages more local start-ups, adding jobs to our community and value to our local economy. Local businesses and services are owned by your friends and neighbors who live in the area, are less likely to leave, and are more invested in our community.
