Lock Your Vehicles! Deputies Recover Three Stolen Trucks after Overnight Crime Spree

Suspects still at large after they were seen pulling door handles before stealing trucks.

On Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 10:48 PM, Walker County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a suspicious incident on Northwood Circle in Walker County.

Deputies were advised of a male suspect pulling on door handles near the area. A complainant advised he had video of the individual pulling on one of their vehicles and was able ot give the deputies a description of the suspect’s vehicle as a dark in color Ford Platinum F150. While patrolling a nearby subdivision, a deputy was flagged down by another resident who advised they observed a Ford Platinum enter the subdivision and were pulling on door handles but had already left the area. Deputies continued to patrol the area and surrounding neighborhoods but were not able to locate the suspect vehicle at this time.

At approximately 11:36 PM, Walker County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a stolen vehicle in the 100 block of Dedication Trial in the Texas Grand Ranch subdivision located in New Waverly. Complainant advised the vehicle had been stolen 5 minutes prior to them calling for law enforcement assistance. Deputies were given a description of the stolen vehicle as a 2022 Ford F250.

Upon speaking to the complainant, it was advised the 2022 pickup could be tracked and a possible location was given near the 700 block of FM 1791. As multiple units converged on the possible location, at approximately 12:25 AM, a different 2020 model Ford pickup truck was observed committing a traffic violation at which point an attempt to make contact was made. The 2020 Ford pickup failed to stop and continued traveling and damaging nearby property. With the assistance of the New Waverly Fire Department thermal drone, deputies were able to locate the 2020 Ford F-250 after it was abandoned by the thieves. Contact was made with the owner of the 2020 F250 and once the vehicle was processed the owner was able to recover the truck and all of its belongings.

As deputies continued to search for the initial stolen 2022 model F250, they were able to receive an updated location near Forest Service Road 208 and FM 1791. Several deputies arrived at that location and were able to locate that stolen F250.

Both vehicles were retrieved and returned to their owners. The suspects were not located at this time and it is believed they were picked up by another vehicle.

This morning, Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 7:22 AM, Walker County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a stolen vehicle on Eisenhower lane. Upon speaking with complainant, it was advised that a 2008 Ford F150 was stolen out of the complainant’s driveway sometime between 10:30 PM and 6:50 AM.

That complainant advised that while standing at the end of her drive way, she saw what she believed to be her stolen vehicle parked in the roadway a short distance away. The vehicle was retrieved and returned ot the owner.

At this time, all cases are ongoing and being investigated by Walker County Auto Theft Task Force personnel.
